February 23–27, 2026. Five days that changed everything.
Our second official event as Serendipia Simple Crafts was unlike anything we had experienced before — because this time, we weren't just at any venue. We were at the Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Humacao. Our campus. Our community. My alma mater.

The Most Challenging Audience — and the Most Rewarding
We'll be honest: walking into a university setting with our handmade bags felt both exciting and nerve-wracking. College students are a different kind of audience. They know exactly what they like. They have strong opinions. They don't pretend to love something they don't.
So we went in hopeful — genuinely hopeful — that Serendipia Simple Crafts would click with the youth. That our colorful, handmade, Puerto Rican-made pieces would speak to them.
And they did. Beyond anything we imagined.
The University Embraced Us
The response from the UPR Humacao community was incredible. Students stopped, admired, tried on, and bought. They praised the products with a genuine enthusiasm that left us speechless. We were grateful and emotional at the same time — almost in disbelief at the reception we were receiving.
There's something uniquely validating about a young person choosing your product. They have options. They have taste. And they chose Serendipia Simple Crafts.
Our First Hit 🎶
But the moment that will stay with us forever happened one morning during the event, we looked up and saw a student walking across campus — casually, confidently — carrying one of our tote bags. She wasn't at our table. She wasn't shopping. She was just living her life with a Serendipia Simple Crafts bag on her shoulder.
In that moment, I felt exactly like an artist hearing their first song on the radio for the first time. That feeling of "this is real. People are choosing this. We made something that matters."
I asked if I could take her photo for the memory. She smiled and said yes. Thank you, always. 🤍
Back at My Alma Mater — In a New Role
There was another layer to this event that made it even more special for me personally. UPR Humacao is where I studied. Where I grew. Where I graduated.
Returning now — not as a student, but as an entrepreneur — bringing joy, color, and sustainable handmade products back to the place that shaped me... that filled me with a pride I don't have words for.
And the fact that we received a formal invitation extended for the entire semester? That was an honor that confirmed something important: Serendipia Simple Crafts belongs here. In our hometown. With our people.
To the UPR Humacao Community
Thank you for embracing us. Thank you for wearing our bags with pride. Thank you for reminding us why we do this.
We'll be back. 🇵🇷✨
