December 6, 2025. A date we'll never forget.
It was our very first time setting up a table and introducing Serendipia Simple Crafts to the real world — not through a screen, not through a photo, but face to face with real people at the Bazaar Navideño de Sabanera del Río in Gurabo, Puerto Rico.
We'd be lying if we said we weren't nervous. We were. A lot. But we were also filled with excitement and a kind of energy that only comes from doing something for the very first time — something that truly matters to you.
More Than a Sale
For us, this event was never just about selling. It was about showing up. It was about putting our handmade bags, pouches, and accessories in front of real eyes and real hands — and watching people's faces light up when they touched them.
"¡Qué lindo es todo!" — we heard that over and over. And every single time, it meant the world.
Seeing someone pick up one of our tote bags, feel the fabric, admire the print, and smile — that's something no analytics dashboard can ever capture. That was our real reward that day.
When the Dream Became Real
But beyond the nerves, beyond the smiles, beyond every kind word we received — there was something even more profound happening.
For the first time, we saw our dream materialize right in front of us. Not as an idea. Not as a vision in our heads. But as something real — a table full of handmade pieces, people holding them, a brand standing on its own two feet in the world.
That moment — watching Serendipia Simple Crafts exist beyond our imagination — was unlike anything we had ever felt before.
What We Learned
Setting up a table for the first time teaches you things you can't learn anywhere else. You learn how to arrange your products so they invite people in. You learn how to talk about what you make with confidence and love. You learn that the story behind the bag matters just as much as the bag itself.
And most importantly — you learn that your community is ready to embrace you.
The Beginning of Something Beautiful
That December morning in Gurabo was the spark. It confirmed everything we believed about Serendipia Simple Crafts — that handmade, colorful, Puerto Rican-made accessories have a place in the world, and that people are hungry for something made with intention and love.
We left that bazaar tired, grateful, and more motivated than ever.
